This morning found Deputy Dad, The Drama Queen, Miss Attitude and me, all gathered around Baby Boy’s crib, watching him sleep. As we stood together in the quiet of his room, in those last moments before it was time to wake him up and run, run, run to get everyone dressed and ready to leave, I put my arms around my daughters and whispered, “When you girls were babies, Daddy and I used to love to watch you sleep, too.” We were all, in that one moment, so…together. So connected by our love for each other. Forgetting the sleepless nights, the sick kids, the sibling rivalry, the neverending “to-do” lists. Just being a family. And, in that one amazing moment, we were at peace.
